Hi, my name is Malaia Garlington. I am a social worker for a Head Start Program. I attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champagne (U of I) where I receive my bachelors in Sociology. I then went on to Chicago State University where I graduated with my Masters of Social Work. During my time at CSU, I became a member of the Alpha Omega chapter of Alpha Epsilon Lambda, a graduate and professional fraternity.
Throughout both my high school and collegiate career, I have participated in many volunteer organizations, from the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program to Habitat for Humanity. I have a big interest in helping others and taking time to give back. So being apart of YDCA has been an enjoyable experience. I am looking forward continuing my progression with YDCA.
